Workshop on “Making Friends and Building Healthy Relationships”
Event Start Date : 07/04/2026 Event End Date 07/04/2026
A workshop on “Making Friends and Building Healthy Relationships” was conducted for the students of Grade 7 under the guidance of the school counsellor, Ms. Swati Jain. The session aimed at helping students understand the importance of forming meaningful friendships and nurturing positive relationships in their daily lives.
A unique aspect of the workshop was the involvement of peer leaders from Grade 12, who were entrusted with the responsibility of conducting the session. Under the mentorship of the school counsellor, these student leaders confidently facilitated the workshop, creating a comfortable and relatable environment for the younger students.
During the workshop, emphasis was laid on the qualities of a good friend such as kindness, trust, respect, and effective communication. Students were encouraged to reflect on their own behaviour and learn how small acts of empathy and understanding can strengthen bonds with peers.
To make the session interactive and impactful, an engaging activity was conducted to help students experience and understand empathy. Through this activity, students were guided to view situations from others’ perspectives and recognize the importance of being sensitive to the feelings of their friends.
The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who actively shared their thoughts and experiences. The peer-led approach not only enhanced engagement but also fostered leadership skills among the Grade 12 students.
